Most Thankful

Today we read Matthew 28 and I Thessalonians 1-3.

Today is Thanksgiving and I have much to be thankful for.  I came from a good family and get to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. I have a good family, am blessed with a dear wife, and some good girls.  God has blessed us with good health (as far as we know....you never really know, do you?) and we have a good time together. My father-in-law moved to town and we have been able to oversee his care during a difficult year of grief and transition after the loss of Dawn's mother.  That is a blessed opportunity. I get to pastor a church full of people that I love and it is a joy to be their pastor. I have much to be thankful.

However, what I read about this morning is what I am most thankful for. Matthew 28.5-7 says it like this-But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”

I am most thankful that there is an empty tomb  and that my Savior lives.  It is a game changer, a life changer, and an eternity changer.  Give thanks today that our Lord lives!
