A Simple Reminder

Today we read Song of Songs 5-8 and Philippians 1.

A Simple Reminder for today that I think we all need to keep in mind.  Philippians 1.6- And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
You are not there yet.  You have not reached your goal. You have not been wholly sanctified yet.  It is a process that will last the rest of your life.  In one sense, when one surrenders his or her life to the Lord, they are saved instantly.  Salvation takes effect immediately.  In another sense, you are being saved.  That is what Philippians 1.6 is referring to.  It is also about the process of 'working out your salvation.' In a third sense, we are looking to salvation.  We are looking to the consummation of our salvation when we see Him face to face.
Now some Christians seem to think they have already reached the goal.  If you do or you act like you do, I've got news for you.  You are wrong.
Others of us know that God is still at work in us and there is much work to do.  The good news today and the simple reminder of the day is that He who began it will continue it.  He has not given up on you.  Don't stop in your dedication service of Him or your effort to be all that you can be for Him.

May He bless our efforts today!
