The Greatest Offer

Today we read Ecclesiastes 10-12, Psalm 94, and Ephesians 5.

Solomon was the wisest man and, maybe, the richest man that has ever lived.  He had anything and everything known to man at his disposal.  He surrounded himself with ladies from all known parts of the world.  He collected the greatest artisans in the world to produce for him the greatest products.  He searched high and low for anything and everything that satisfies and tried them all apparently.  Yet, toward the end, he was disenchanted.  All that he had experienced had not satisfied.  As an old, experienced man, he sat down and wrote the book of Ecclesiastes.  He ends the book with the conclusion to all of his life experiences.  He writes it in Ecclesiastes 12.13- The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

In the end he realized again that it all came back to the Lord.  Don't waste a lot of your life...or even this day...pursuing all the world offers.  Instead, pursue the One that offers you the world.
