A Dangerous Delight

The danger in reading the Word of God, meditating on it, and allowing it to saturate your life, is that it will get to the heart of who you are.   It is alive with the Spirit and moving in us to the heart of where we live.  The danger is that feel that we are exposed before the Lord when we spend time in His Word.   The reality is that we are exposed to the Lord anyway.  When we read the Word, it lets us know how exposed we really are.

Hebrews 4.12-13-For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The danger of the Word is also it's delight.  It will not return void.  It will not be silent.  It will not grow dead.  It will work in us, through us, and around us touching on every matter in our lives that we need to give spiritual attention to.  Through such probing and piercing God works in usand we are challenged and strengthened in Him.  We grow when we are in the Word and growth in the Lord is delightful.

Read it the Word today.  It is a dangerous delight!
