Leading In the Dark

If you noticed, sorry about the two day hiatus.  The stomach virus kept me a little restless, quick on my feet, and slightly distracted.  Good to be back.....in the land of the living.

You do know that Pharisees did not like Jesus.  He upset their apple cart.  He did not do faith like they did.  He did not abide by all their rules.  His faith was alive and life changing.  He gathered a lot of attention...which moved away from them.   He spoke of new ways, instead of old. They liked everything spiritual centered around them and focused on them.  He enlightened people  in a new way.  He even enlightened them...at least some of them.  Let's look at one in John 3.1-2- Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”

I hope you notice this morning that some want to know more about Christ, but they do not want others to know of their spiritual curiosity.   He was by day one of those that oppose, but at night, when no one saw him, he wanted to know more.  How did Jesus respond?  He did not shun him.  He asked him the hard questions and then led him to life.

There are those around us that are spiritual curious...even hungry.  Let us pray today that God will open our eyes to see them, our ears to hear them, our hearts to care for their spiritual plight, and our mouths to lead them to Life.
