The Banquet

Recently our college students went to the Passion Conference in Atlanta, a very 'worship intense' conference that is top notch and very inspiring.  About 50,000 college students filled the Georgia Dome.  Can you imagine??  Well, they came home...passionate...about serving the Lord. Based upon a passage that we read this morning, they have a vision.  (www.lifejournal.cc)  Luke 14:12-14- He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
We have  a food ministry where we give a bag of food to about 50 families on 1 or 2 occasions each month.  At Thanksgiving we give turkeys and at Christmas we give hams.  We also have a Free Medical Clinic that serves 75-100 people every month on a Saturday morning.    The College Students want to throw a banquet, a nice one, for all those that would come  that normally could not come to such as that.  When I think about the burden that God has given me to help out the needy and the vision that He has given others, I get excited about the heavenly impact such events can bring.
Pray for the planning and think of others today...especially those you would not of normally thought of.
