An Intangible Blessing

When I played football in high school, one of the pregame preparations on Friday afternoon was to go over our 'intangibles'.  In our locker room boards were posted on the wall that had significant words or phrases that we should keep in mind while we practiced and played.  Our coach called them 'intangibles.'  On gameday we would have a meeting and go over the 'intangibles' or those things that you cannot completely describe but make a huge difference in a ballgame.
Salvation in Christ has some intangibles as well.  These intangibles are benefits of the Christian life that you cannot fully describe but you can receive the blessing from while living in Christ. Our reading today (www.lifejournal.cc) closes with one.  Luke 7:50- And he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”  Peace...what an intangible!  Peace is one of those benefits of the Christian life that you cannot quite put your finger on but you know when you have it.  Unlike what many think, peace is not an absence of war or conflict. Peace is a stillness in the midst of the storm.  Peace is the calmness in the midst of calamity.  Peace is the presence of God in your life in the midst of circumstances beyond your understanding.  Peace is a gift of God for the Christian.  A gift that cannot be bought or sold, sought and seized, but a blessing that comes as the Spirit speaks... in the stillness,  as the Lord walks...in the midst, and where the Christian lives...in the daily.  Seek Him and peace will be an intangible blessing for you.  I pray that for you today!  Keep your eyes on Him.
