Well, I am proud of our Toppers! 6-0! They faced a very talkative bunch and shut them down. Our 6'7" defensive end standout, Chris Jones, was confronted in a casual confrontation by the Bruce coach before the season began. The coach said, "Have a good first 5 games, because when you play us, we are going to shut you down." Last night Jones had 4.5 sacks and chased the poor quarterback all night. The quote in the paper from the Bruce coach this morning: We didn't have time to throw the football. He is a tremedous athlete. A great night of football and, man, what fun it is!
Let me give you some encouraging news. When Christ faced the leper, notice what he said in Luke 5.12-13- While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him.
What Christ can do to a flesh eating disease like leprosy, He can do for a soul eating disease called sin on the soul. He is willing to make you clean, if you will just ask and repent. So do it! Take the cure!
Now that, my friend, is refreshing!
