Tootin' Your Own Horn

When a trumpet is spoken of in Scripture it is referring to a warning of an incoming army or a proclamation of battle by the enemy.  Judgment day is coming.  Did you know that you are to toot your own horn?  Let Ezekiel explain:
Ezekiel 33.1-6  -The word of the Lord came to me: ² “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their watchman, ³ and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people, ⁴ then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. ⁵ He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. ⁶ But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.
I believe the judgment of God is coming upon America for the state of affairs that we have allowed.  What does that mean?  I don't exactly know, but I believe God's Hand of blessing upon us is being lifted.  The hedge of protection is lessening because we have not truly taken advantage of the opportunity that God threw in our laps.  Judgment is coming.  We need to sound the alarm. 

I am not really concerned about us sounding the alarm about the country near as much as I am concerned about the souls that make up the country.  The country is changed when the souls of the countrymen are changed.  Therefore the trumpet we sound is the trumpet of the Gospel.  If we don't let people know of their salvation opportunity in Christ, we are guilty of neglect.  If we do 'sound the alarm', then what they do with it is up to them.  Let's clearly give men and women, boys and girls the opportunity to know of the life-changing love of Jesus.
