Fresh, Living Water

Today we read Ezekiel 47-48 and Luke 2.

A vision that Ezekiel sees in Eze. 47 is quite fascinating.  There is a fresh water river flowing out of the Temple.  Wherever the river flows, there is life. On the shores of the river there are bountiful trees on its banks.  The waters are filled with fish.  It is a beautiful scene.  Notice Ezekiel 47.12-  And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.

Notice the water flows from  the sanctuary.  The sanctuary speaks of the presence of God.  Newness, life, and bountiful blessings come from being in the presence of God.  It is what Jesus called living water.  It reminds me of the blessings of the person that stays in God's Word as recorded in Psalm 1.

Don't forget where your blessing comes from and do not neglect your opportunity today.
