Cotton Pickin' Fields

Today we read 1 Samuel 25 & 26, Psalm 63, and Matthew 9.

There is not a cotton field ready for the pickin' that I pass that I don't think about Matthew 9.36-38- When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

As evident as it is that a cotton field is ready to be harvested, it is just as evident that we live in fields ripe for the harvest. The question is 'Who will do the labor?'  The labor is living for the Lord, having compassion on a desperate, searching world, taking time for the harrassed, watching out for the helpless, and pointing lost sheep to the shepherd.

Let's pray and let's go!  Let's trust that the same Jesus that touched and changed the lives of those that came in contact with Him will still do the same today!  Search the fields and have a great day!
