Gently Ready

Today, as we continue to Prepare 90 Days for Easter (P90E), we read Luke 7 and 1 Peter 3.8-15 and are challenged about the effectiveness of our everyday witness.

There is a great correlation between two Scripture passages today that strike to the heart concerning how we present ourselves in the everyday. First, we have to shine as we are instructed in
Matthew 5.16- In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Second, we are to be ready with a good, steady word on the tip of our tongue, when the opportunity opens as instructed in I Peter 3.15- ...always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.

Let's pray today that God will open up to us an opportunity to share His Love and Truth through our lifestyle, a well spoken word, and a gentle and respectful spirit.
