The Seed Among Us

Today, as we continue to Prepare 90 Days for Easter (P90E), we read Matthew13 and I Samuel 3 and ponder on the question: How well do we hear the Lord when He speaks?

Matthew 13 is filled with stories that Jesus told to help us understand what in the world is going on.  One great story is about the enemy that plants bad seed among the good seed.  What do you do about the bad seed in this world.  Matthew 13.27-29 tells us- And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?'   He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' So the servants said to him, 'Then do you want us to go and gather them?'  But he said, 'No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them.

There is bad seed around us. You already knew that though.  What do we do about it? Well, we don't go around trying to uproot the trouble.  If we do, we are going to cause a lot of trouble for the good seed among them.

Instead of uprooting, let us make sure that we are grounded ourselves, aware of our surroundings, and scattering good seed in the field that God has planted us in.

Everything is not legitimate out there.  Let's make sure we are.
