The Ministry of Reconciliation

Today as we continue Preparing 90 Days for Easter (P90E) we read Luke 5 and 2 Corinthians 5.11-21 and ponder on the ministry of reconciliation.  2 Corinthians 5.17-20 explains it well:

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Since Christ has reconciled us and instructed us to lead others to Him for reconciliation, it is our job to do the ministry of reconciliation.  We cannot do it for them.  We just point people to Jesus.  We are not the Message, we just deliver the mail.  We are just one beggar telling other beggars where to find bread.  We are responsible to do that.

Share Him today with boldness, and have a great day!
