Bumper Sticker Truths

I may overwhelm you this morning with information overload, but I can't help it.  Some of my favorite parts of Paul's letters are found at the end (www.lifejournal.cc).  He gives bullets (and bunches of them) on how to live out your faith.  These 'bumper sticker truths' are plenty to keep us busy working on the matters God would have us focus on.  I just want to list several this morning and comment.  Take heart as He leads. Romans 12:9-Let love be genuine....Enough fake stuff.  Let's love with the qualities of I Cor. 13.
.....hold fast to what is good....It is easy to get sidetracked, but keep it between the ditches.
v.10-... Outdo one another in showing honor....What if our concern was to 'outserve' others for the Lord or to serve more faithfully than anyone else?  I don't mean service hours.  I mean honoring God by honoring others. I realize that it is not about being better than someone else, however, if you are trying to honor others by serving them in the Lord, you are placing them before yourself anyway.
...do not be slothful in zeal...How's your zeal? Do you have any zest for the Lord? Does your service for the Lord have that 'clean' smell?
...be fervent in spirit... Weakhearted faith won't get you far with the stuff of life...
v.11- ...Rejoice in hope....The only way you can rejoice in your hope is to have plenty of it, but, then again, how can you have anymore than you have, if you place all your hope in Christ.
...be patient in tribulation...Hard to do but worth the effort.
...be constant in prayer....Don't just talk about it, do it.
....Contribute to the needs of the saints...keep a watchful eye for who may need you.

A little overwhelming, huh?  No, not at all, it just reminds us all that we haven't got there yet.
Until we do,let's mark our mind and our walk with bumper sticker truths. Enjoy your Friday in the Lord!
