Not Just Passing Through

I often speak of the war that we are in.  Yes, I have friends that are serving our country overseas, but that is not the war that I speak of.  We are in a spiritual war.  When you see mass tragedy happen from a terrorist attack or a demon possessed gunman, it is a reminder to us that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10.10).  Thank God we can have life and life abundantly in Jesus' name.  Big tragedy is a sudden reminder, but also remember that the spiritual attacks of temptation that we feel is also the evidence of the battles we face.  It is important that we stand strong, no matter what may come. We need to live to please the Lord.  We need to live to set an example for others.   We need to live so that the world can look at us and say, 'What in the world!"  Notice how Peter put it:   1 Peter 2. 11-12- Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. The Holy Spirit can use our conduct to draw others to Christ.  We must live in such a way...even in the midst of our times.  Keep this in mind:  the war has been won.  The battles continue to rage around us and within us, but the real war has been won.  We just have to let others know of their opportunity of victory and live our lives in a way that claims the victory that we have already received.
Let's live victorious today...and until He comes!
