Lessons from Charlie Hustle

Today we read Micah 1-4 and Hebrews 6.

Pete Rose, the great baseball player that was defamed because of gambling, was also called 'Charlie Hustle.'  He always gave an all out effort on the field.  When they walked Pete Rose on balls, he never walked to first base.  He ran.  He had his share of personal problems that effected his legacy, but he never let up on the field...even if he did bet on his own games (if he did).

Are you hustling in your walk of faith?  Are you giving your all?

You ought to be.  Somebody is watching you.  Do you realize it like you should?

Hebrews 6.10-12- For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

If He is taking a look at our work for Him, we should take a look at our work for Him.
If He desires that we are not sluggish in our faith, then we work to not be sluggish in our faith.
If He has placed folks before us, through Scripture and through our own lives, that give us great impressions of how to live out our faith, then we ought to follow suit and please Him with our lives.

May be not be sluggish today in living out our faith in Him! Hustle in the Lord!
