Bone Refreshment

Today we read Proverbs 1-3 and Romans 7.

Waking up in Manhattan for the second day, I am thoroughly enjoying the Big Apple.   Yesterday we went to what must be the largest church in the world- the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.  You can fit the Statue of Liberty in it if you lay her own her side.  It was remarkable architecture, but, as a pastor, I kept thinking about what kind of capital stewardship program you have to have to raise that kind of money!  We then went to Rockefeller Plaza and Madison Avenue and spent the afternoon shopping in the some of the most elite stores in the world.  We topped off the day by eating at Times Square and watching Annie on Broadway at the Palace Theatre.  This is the kind of stuff that Dawn and Abby dream of.   Today we see the Statue of Liberty.

This kind of visit is overwhelming, exciting, and somewhat exhausting.  When I read Proverbs 3.7, it struck a chord in me.   Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
When you get spiritual exhausted, the best rest... the only rest... that you can find is found when you look to the Lord.
Looking to Jesus will bring you relief... He will refresh your bones!  Be refreshed today!
