None Other

Today we read 2 Samuel 7, 1 Chronicles 17, Psalm 2, and Matthew 20.

As David heard from The Lord concerning the legacy that the king would leave, David gave God praise.  In 1 Chronicles 17.20 he prays, "There is none like you, O Lord, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears."
To hear the promises of God and to know how God will use you had to be an awesome moment.  However, notice that at the same time, that what David wanted to do for God was not to be fulfilled by him.  David would not build the Temple.  That was not the focus of the work of God in David.  David was both excited about the legacy that God would allow him to leave, but probably a little disappointed that he could not do what he wanted to do for God.   God's plan was different for Him.  Even with that, David gives Him praise.

Praise The Lord today!  He has set your footsteps and He will guide your path.  Follow HIs direction and give Him praise.
